Congratulations! You’re about to land your first student job — a great way to gain experience and earn some money while continuing your studies. Before you get started, here’s what you really need to know.
A student job is more than just a small side job. It’s a professional experience governed by a specific agreement called a student employment contract.
This contract protects you: it sets your working hours, working conditions, days off, and guarantees you the same rights as an employee.
Who can work as a student?
To be able to work as a student, you must:
- Be enrolled in a school or university;
- Be at least 16 years old, or 15 if you have completed your first two years of secondary education;
- And of course, not work during your class hours.
Each year, you have 650 hours (from January 1 to December 31) during which you can work at a reduced rate.
You can track your hour counter on Student@work — very convenient to avoid any unpleasant surprises.
When and where can you work?
At TeamOne, we’re looking for motivated students all year round — during the week, on weekends, and throughout the holidays. There are always assignments waiting for you!
Whether you want to finance your studies, gain experience, or simply treat yourself, we’ll help you find the job that suits you.
